“Vietnamese Designers Win with Scrap Fabric Costume”

The fourth iteration of Vietnam Design Week 2023 concluded on September 29th at the Temple of Literature. During the event, the costume design Ratla Xuan by Nguyen Khai Tam won the first prize in the Designed by Vietnam competition. Ratla Xuan, designed by Nguyen Khai Tam, wins the Designed by Vietnam contest. Nguyen Khai Tam crafted the winning costume by utilizing available materials and repurposing discarded fabrics. The costume showcases hand-stitched and woven patterns, celebrating the creativity of craftsmanship while promoting sustainability. Nguyen Khai Tam, the designer, stated: “As a proponent of sustainable fashion, I am passionate about the reuse of fashion waste. Vietnamese Coastline Hosts Sighting of Whale Shark

Nhat Phong, a local tour guide, reported that he and a group of tourists had a remarkable encounter with a shark during a boat trip to the coral reefs along Bai Dua Beach. The shark sighting occurred on Thursday at 11:45 am. Phong revealed that the tourists initially spotted the shark’s large fin on the water surface, which got them all excited. They requested the captain to turn the boat around for a closer look. As they approached, they noticed the shark swimming slower and appearing friendly. Phong and the tour group managed to capture footage of the four-meter shark, marveling at its size and the white spots covering its body. Initially, they mistook it for a whale.
