Preparations for Ho Chi Minh City’s annual spring flower festival near completion

The annual fest, which is organized every year on the occasion of the Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday, will start welcoming visitors at 6:30 pm on January 16 and last until 5:30 pm on January 27.

An entrance ticket costs VND30,000 (US$1.28).

The organizers have planned to display about 2,500 flower and plant products such as apricot blossoms, orchids, bonsai, potted landscapes, ornamental birds, miniature landscapes, mascots, and many others in seven areas.

Traditional food stalls, a display area, a calligraphy performance zone, a tea ceremony, a kid playground, and a stage for lion and dragon dances, music, and comedies had been nearly finished as of Wednesday.

“Starting tomorrow, we’ll be working overtime to sprint toward full completion as scheduled,” Tran Quoc Viet, a decoration worker, said on Wednesday.

Besides the Spring Flower Festival 2023 in Tao Dan Park, authorities in Ho Chi Minh City also organize six Tet flower markets at the 23/9 Park in District 1, Gia Dinh Park in Phu Nhuan District, Le Van Tam Park in District 1, Binh Dien wholesale market in Binh Chanh District, Phu My Hung flower street in District 7, and Thu Duc City from Saturday to Lunar New Year’s Eve on January 21.

Workers are busy finishing the last decoration items for the Spring Flower Festival 2023 in Tao Dan Park, which is slated to open in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City in three days.

The annual fest, which is organized every year on the occasion of the Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday, will start welcoming visitors at 6:30 pm on January 16 and last until 5:30 pm on January 27.
